Morning, I Am A Beetle

Morning. I am a Beetle is part of a small series of unique books I made in 2014 in Milanville, Pa.

That summer I had a Japanese beetle infestation and many leaves in my garden were transformed by the insect’s perforations. The beetles gave me the idea to press their leaves between the pages of my book and later respond to the resulting prints by perforating, embroidering just like the insects did, the book pages with my sewing machine.
